Company Background

Xishaoye was founded in April 2014, with its first store in Wudaokou, Beijing. The company said it sold 200,000 roujiamo in its first 100 days, becoming a widely cited early example of an “internet+” restaurant brand in China.

By the time of the notice, Xishaoye reported more than 100 directly operated stores in Beijing, plus stores in Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, and other Chinese markets. It also said it had sold 80 million roujiamo cumulatively.

In 2019, the company launched its international brand Bingz, positioning roujiamo as a “Crispyburger” for overseas markets. Toronto was its first overseas market. The 2022 notice said Bingz would continue opening stores in Toronto, including Fairview Mall, Yorkdale, Scarborough Town Centre, and Downtown locations.

New store managers and reserve management staff were to receive three months of on-the-job training. Training covered station operations, store management, staffing schedules, ordering, storage management, ingredient cost control, sales operations, and related assessments.

After passing company assessments, candidates could be promoted into the management group and independently operate a store.

SocialEpoch was presented as an overseas private-domain social marketing service provider. Its services centered on WhatsApp-based private-domain marketing, covering public-channel traffic acquisition, private-domain operations, repeat-purchase enablement, distribution-led growth, and practical training.

For physical store operators expanding overseas, SocialEpoch described a social new-retail operating model intended to digitize offline users and move online users into private-domain channels. Daka International

Daka International was founded in 2012. It was described as a modern technical enterprise focused on R&D, production, sales, and logistics for solid beverages, flavored beverage concentrates, flavored milk pastes, canned convenience porridge, jams, coffee, and related products.

The company positioned itself as a one-stop service provider for tea-drink companies, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

MenuSifu

MenuSifu was described as a U.S. restaurant SaaS and technology company founded in New York in 2014. Its founding team included technology engineers, and the article said it recruited a Columbia University R&D team in the same year as core technical support.

The company provides restaurant management solutions covering systems, operations, data, funding, marketing, and consulting. The article said MenuSifu served restaurant clients across all 50 U.S. states and regions, supported 28 languages, and served stores and restaurants of different sizes.

The article also stated MenuSifu’s mission to use big data and mobile internet to improve the operating level and efficiency of North American Chinese restaurants, with a five-year goal of improving the overall image of overseas Chinese dining.
