Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

FoodBud operates foodbud.cn and www.foodbud.cn, a public information site for global foodservice chain intelligence. For privacy questions or requests, contact us at hello@foodbud.cn.

2. What personal data we collect

FoodBud does not have user accounts, passwords, payments, or a login system.

We collect personal data only when you submit the Data Access waitlist form:

• Email address, required so we can contact you about data access.
• Your role, selected as operator, investor, advisor, or other.
• Company name, if you choose to provide it.
• Technical and attribution fields: utm_source, company_slug, intent, and submission time.

For abuse prevention, our rate limit system stores hashed IP and hashed email identifiers. It does not store the plain-text IP address for rate limiting.

3. Cookies and analytics

FoodBud does not use cookies in its application code.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or cross-site ad tracking. FoodBud uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page views and product usage in a cookieless way.

4. How we use the data

We use waitlist data only to:

• confirm, manage, and prioritize Data Access waitlist requests;
• contact you about FoodBud data access, related product availability, or your request;
• understand which audience segments and pages generate data-access interest;
• protect the waitlist endpoint from spam, abuse, and excessive automated submissions.

We do not sell personal data. We do not use waitlist data for advertising targeting.

5. Legal basis

Where GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on legitimate interests to respond to your waitlist request, operate the site, measure aggregate usage, and prevent abuse. Where consent is required for optional email updates, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us or using any unsubscribe method we provide.

6. Third-party processors

FoodBud uses third-party service providers to run the site and waitlist:

• Vercel for hosting, deployment, edge delivery, and operational logs.
• GitHub for private waitlist issue storage.
• Upstash for rate limiting with hashed identifiers.
• Resend for confirmation email if email confirmation is enabled.
• Vercel Web Analytics for cookieless traffic analytics.

These providers process data only as needed to provide their services to FoodBud.

7. International transfers

FoodBud is hosted outside mainland China and is intended for an international audience. Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States and other locations where our service providers operate. We use established service providers and limit the data we send to what is necessary for hosting, storage, rate limiting, analytics, or email delivery.

8. Retention

We keep waitlist entries while FoodBud Data Access is being evaluated, launched, and operated, unless you ask us to delete your data earlier. Rate-limit hashes are kept for short operational windows: approximately one hour for IP-based limits and twenty-four hours for email-based limits.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to the processing of, or receive a copy of your personal data. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and you may unsubscribe from FoodBud emails.

To exercise these rights, contact hello@foodbud.cn. If GDPR applies to you, you may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority in the country where you live, work, or believe an issue occurred.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as FoodBud adds or changes data-access, analytics, email, or operational features. The latest version will be posted on this page.
